6gs Laughlin Tournament

April 19 & 20, 2021

It is that time to begin thinking about the Laughlin Tournament.  For this year the April outing the BBB will be played April 19 at El Rio and the Scramble will be April 20 at AVI. Both are 8am (local time) shotgun starts.   The awards meeting is planned for the evening of 20 April at the Edgewater.

Entry Fee: Still $150 for members (in good standing and dues up to date) and $180 for non-members.  Entry fee must be paid not later than by 8 April. I am planning on staying in the valley until then so you should be able to catch me on Thursdays.  Make checks to Larry Power and my mailing address is 45 E 9th place, unit 74, Mesa, 85201.  If you do not see me however, Charlie Fireng can also take your checks.  If you have any special pairings you would like for the BBB round at El Rio, let me and I will do my best to accommodate.

April 19:  El Rio GC at 8AM (local time)

Blind Best Ball, low individual nets, CTP, and skins

April 20:  Avi Resort GC at 8AM (local time)

4-person scramble & CTP

April 20: Awards for the various winners of the competitions will be at 5PM in the Edgewater hotel.

Other Things:  The Corona Virus is still with us today.  I see that two of the vaccines are now approved and vaccinations are beginning so I am hopeful by April most of us in the senior group will be immune.  There should be no issues in April for hotel reservations and the meeting room.  The last two Tournaments there were only 20 players.  I understand that, I too do not wish to hasten my end.  Given the above, I would hope health concerns will be greatly minimized by April. Twenty players is really a minimum for the tournament.  If you like this Laughlin outing, talk it up some and urge other 6G League members and non-members to come play.

If you are planning to play I would appreciate it if you could let me know earlier.  I do not need the money until 8 April, but we have to put a deposit on the meeting room, so I would like to have some confirmation we will have at least 20 players for this April before I commit us to the award room reservation.
